When I was five years old, the bishop stood over me and said, "Stop babbling about what Father Horne did to you." I kept the secret for 40 years. Today, I babble. - ke

SNAP blasts Philly lawyer for having same ties to Catholic Church SNAP has

.
This is what I mean when I say, after a while you just have to laugh.

Here in today's news from My Fox Philadelphia, SNAP criticizes a former DA who will investigate latest Grand Jury allegations for being "too connected to the church." Of course reporters just print it, without investigating enough to find out SNAP itself is too tied to the Catholic Church for most victims to continue working with the "national support group."

NOTE: SNAP is criticizing Gina Smith for serving on the Philadelphia Archdiocese's Social Services Board. Barbara Blaine formed SNAP under the aegis of 8th Day Center for Justice, part of the Chicago Archdiocese. At the time Blaine was working as a social worker for Catholic Worker, a church sponsored social services agency.

See last paragraph of story below: "A spokewoman said Smith has resigned from the Catholic Social Services Board,"

See what I mean? After a while you just have to laugh.

Abuse Group Doubts Archdiocese Lawyer
MyFox Philadelphia - Feb. 22, 2011

An abuse advocate group, SNAP, says a lawyer hired by the Philadelphia archdiocese may not be impartial. The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests is questioning why the church hired a lawyer with close connections to the archdiocese to investigate 37 potential abuse cases....

(Cardinal Justin Rigali) hired Gina Smith, a former assistant District Attorney who prosecuted numerous sexual abuse cases for two decades, to look into the cases of 37 priests mentioned in the grand jury report...

SNAP says Smith has too many ties to the Catholic church and they want someone else to look into this. Smith is a life-long Catholic who also served on a Church-associated board....

A spokewoman also said Smith has resigned from the Catholic Social Services Board.

...................

I'VE NOTICED: It's often a Fox affiliate that is first to run SNAP press releases.... Fox, that harbinger of truth and honesty in the news...

You gotta laugh after a while as they are too big to fight.
