Clohessy hypocrisy makes all victims look bad
.
It always amazes me how SNAP manages to make "survivors" look bad by issuing their press statements claiming they are speaking for survivors when we all know they barely consult with anyone but themselves. For example, to me and a lot of survivors, the practice of leafletting about pedophiles outside church services is extremely insensitive and makes victims look as "callous and reckless" as SNAP calls the church. Yet SNAP ignored me and other survivors who tried to point out this insensitivity and just continued to do it, making it clear, at least to me, that they were taking their direction from some invisible entity, not survivors at the grass roots level.
But this situation where Clohessy apparently released confidential information in a press statement and opened up a can of worms is so blatantly bad that, once again, I get the feeling SNAP is purposely making survivors look bad in an effort to work surreptitiously for the church. I know most people think I'm hopelessly paranoid for believing SNAP really works for the church, but look at how hypocritical this is.
As always, but in this case of Father Michael Tierney, blatantly, the end result of Clohessy refusing to testify or turn over documents is a blemish on the image of all survivors all the time.
SNAP cannot claim the church is too secretive while carrying out the same secretive tactics as the church, refusing to answer questions in deposition and refusing to turn over subpoena'd documents. Unless SNAP's goal is to make the victims look like hypocrites.
